His current world record for cycling backwards with a violin is 60.45 kilometres (37.56 miles) in 5 hours, nine minutes. |

On 24 May 2003, Markus Riese of Germany broke the distance record for riding a bicycle backwards in an hour when he achieved a distance of 29.1 kilometres (18 miles). He continued cycling until he broke the 50-kilometre record (31 miles), recording a world record time of 1:46:59 hours. |
